The Power of Praise and Prayer

It is usually in our darkest moments that we experience the awesome power of prayer.

In the Book of Acts we read that Paul and Silas were arrested, beaten and thrown into prison for preaching the gospel.

At midnight, Paul and Silas started praying and singing songs of praise to our Father God.

Suddenly, there was a great earthquake and the foundation of the prison was shaken.

The chains holding Paul and Silas were broken and the prison gates were thrown open.

That is what the power of praise can do. It can pull down anything that is burdening you in your life.

So, remember, whatever challenges you may be facing don’t stop praising and worshipping God. For it is in your darkest moments that you will truly experience the awesome power of Prayer.

God Bless

Thanking God in Prayer

I am very conscious that I spend much of my prayer time in asking our Father God for everything that I need.

I always seem to have a prayerful ‘shopping list’, that I lay at the foot of God, of things that I need to improve not only the quality of my own life but so that I am able to help more and more people enter a deeper relationship with our Heavenly Father.

However, I always try to remember to thank Him for everything that He has graciously, and generously, bestowed upon me.

He is a God of many miracles, and I would not be writing this message today, if it were not for His grace in saving me from my ‘death’ bed.

So, in my morning prayers, I do take a minute, perhaps longer, to thank Him for everything I have and for all His love and compassion that He gives to me every day, and in so many wondrous ways.

Praise be the Lord. Hallelujah

Urgent Appeal for Priscilla

priscilla

There is a little girl in India – Priscilla – who needs urgent life-saving surgery.

But India, sadly, has no free National Health Service like we do here in the UK.

The cost of Priscilla’s operation will be 63,000 Rupees (around £800) which is a large sum of money for my friends in the church in India who are desperately praying for her.

They are praying for a miracle and I am asking for your kind and generous support in making this miracle become a positive reality.

I will be donating all the profits from the sale of my recently published paperback book – ‘What Is Your Favourite Bible Verse?’ – for Priscilla’s life-saving operation.

All you have to do is to go to:-

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1520602545

The book only costs £9.95 which is a very small price to pay when you know that you will be preserving the life of this little child, Priscilla.

And, in addition, if your heart tells you that you would like to donate more money toward’s Priscilla’s operation then please go to my donation web page:-

All donations that we receive will be sent immediately to the Priscilla Fund Raising Committee in India.

Thank you, in advance, for all your wonderful love and support

Jeffrey Archer’s Favourite Bible Verse

Lord Jeffrey Archer is an International Best-Selling Author and Former Politician

(“I wrote a million words in the first year, and I could never have done that outside of prison.”)

My favourite Bible verse(s) are:

1 Corinthians 13: “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity”.

1 Corinthians 13 was also a favourite scripture of my mother.

A Prayer From Syria

This prayer was written by a young man living in Syria; He is married and has one child.

Please use this prayer as a basis to help shape your own prayers for the people of Syria, many of whom live in a constant fear of persecution.

Thank you Lord,
For all that you have done and are still doing.

I trust your will is always good and finally you will turn evil to good.
I know that you are not silent, but patient…
But how long will it take Lord?

I am looking forward to a new beginning amongst my people.
My own desire is that evil will stop
and that we will see your glory shine again in the darkness.

I’m longing for healing, for restoration. I cry out to you, Lord.
I’m longing for a new generation to take their place in your kingdom,
To be the light and salt of this nation.

Help me to see my role in this transformation.
Protect me and be with me.
Carry me, day by day.

Amen

The Power of Intercessory Prayer

The Power of Intercessory Prayer

What is intercession? First of all, intercession is sacrificial prayer. It focuses less on you and more on others. It asks God’s power to be unleashed in the world.

Intercessory prayer involves spiritual warfare. Our battle is not against flesh and blood, and it is not fought with carnal weapons. We win these battles on our knees!

2 Corinthians 10: 3 – 5

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

Through intercessory prayer, you can subdue the forces of hell and render Satan powerless, because “the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling sown of strongholds!”

Through Intercession, you can change the course of history. Through prayer and intercession, you can touch your community and impact your world.

God has placed all that He is and has at your disposal in prayer.

No principality or power can stand against the person who knows how to pray.

The Power of Intercessory Prayer is an e-book in .pdf format and costs only £1.00.

James 1: 22

James 1:22

“But be ye doers of the Word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves”.

God’s Word is relevant and effective for today.

What does it say and mean to us?

God’s Word is like a mirror, we examine ourselves, reveals what we need to change and helps us to change.

Obedience in hearing and doing His Word leads to a godly and blessed life.

Practice what we learn.

Disobedience to His Word leads to sin and destruction. Not deceive ourselves: Pretend to love God and live in sin.

Plan our lives without His guidance.

Praying and not believing. Concern for others and not offer help.

Prayer:

Mighty and all powerful God, we read your Word, but our love for Christ has become cold and we have become careless.

We want to be faithful and effective witnesses. Let us not deceive ourselves.

Be hearers and doers of the Word. Willing to do what the Word tells us and make a difference in Jesus name.

Amen

With many peaceful blessings, His peace, His presence and His power be yours today.
